I really liked this book because it is like if you were in the book because in some parts it is so fascinating that you will want to read more & in other parts it is like a mystery & adventure it will suck you into the book.
In one part, Erik (the boy) was in a barn where he saw a shadow. When Erik came close to the shadow, to his surprise, he found out that it was a dog. The dog barked at him in joy, but the dog was injured; she had porcupine needles on her face; Erik called a vet on his cell phone; the vet came and cured the dog.
It was so fascinating that Erik survived in the wilderness without anybody. Erik ran out of his grandfather's home since he was treated like trash. He learned how to hunt animals in order for him to be able to eat them and survive; however, he barely knew how to cook, so most of the time the food was raw.
